Doors are an important part of our daily use furniture. They not only provide us with shelter and security, but also give a complete look to our place. They act as a shield for the residents from the natural hazards such as sun, wind, rain, etc. Without a door one cannot imagine a complete room. Today when I was reporting out in the city I decided to keep a note of what were the commonly used door patterns. Some of them are listed as under:

1. Double panelled wooden door: One of the most common door pattern which was seen in almost one out of five houses was the double panelled door. And another factor which was found common in them was that they were of wooden material. These doors are convenient, sturdy and affordable by middle as well as lower middle classes; moreover, the door knobs and handles installed on it are not very expensive. The double panelled door consists of two panels with a latch to bolt the door. Most of the times such doors have a latch and a bolt for safety purposes which adds on to it sturdiness. The lock system used in such doors is generally a big and strong metallic lock as such doors have a traditional pattern and not have an inbuilt lock system.
